Austin Foam Plastics Plans 60K-SF Expansion
Austin Foam Plastics Inc. struck a deal with the Pflugerville (TX) Community Development Corp. to expand its facility by 60,000 square feet. The move would create 22 jobs. In the meantime, the PCDC’s deal with the company provides a grant of $35,000 per year for the first three years, provided that Austin Foam maintains a minimum of 125 jobs in the first year, creates 10 new primary jobs in year two, and creates 12 new primary jobs in the deal’s third year.
Austin Foam, at 2933 A.W. Grimes Blvd., moved to Pflugerville in 1998, and is one of the Austin suburb’s largest employers. The company manufactures foam, molded pulp and wood packaging products. Sealed Air, a packaging company, acquired Austin Foam in 2018, and is planning to relocate its wood shop facility from Austin to Pflugerville.
