Aurora Plans Pleasant Prairie Medical Center
Aurora Health Care plans to build a $130 million medical complex in Pleasant Prairie, WI, near I-94 in the Kenosha area.
A 100,000-square-foot outpatient surgery center and a 100,000-square-foot office building are among Aurora’s plans for the 64-acre site. Construction of the facilities are expected to begin this year, with opening in the second quarter of 2020.
“The region continues to grow with multiple major developments adding to local health needs,” Lisa Just, interim president of Aurora Health Care’s Racine/Kenosha/Northern Illinois patient service market, told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “Our new and expanded services will enhance patient access for the growing numbers of residents and employers.”
The Pleasant Prairie site will be built instead of a previously announced facility in Kenosha. It will be close to the planned Foxconn TV manufacturing plant in Mount Pleasant, which could add 13,000 jobs to the area.
