Atlas Capital Snags Brooklyn’s 80 DeKalb for Reported $202M

Atlas Capital Group, a full-service real estate investment, development and management firm based in New York, said Friday it had purchased 80 Dekalb Ave. in Brooklyn. Although Atlas did not disclose terms of the deal, published reports said the buyer paid $202.5 million to acquire the 36-story apartment tower from KKR, which in turn paid $190 million to acquire it from Brookfield Properties in July 2022.

“We’re pleased to continue to invest in New York City by expanding our Brooklyn residential portfolio with 80 Dekalb Ave.,” said an Atlas representative. “We are confident that our operational expertise will allow us to continue providing a great tenant experience for current and future residents.”

With 365 fully occupied units, 80 Dekalb is Atlas’ second building acquisition in Brooklyn, following The Denizen, a luxury multifamily project located in Bushwick that Atlas acquired in 2021. Atlas is also co-developing a luxury condominium in Manhattan’s West Village at 80 Clarkson St.
