Ashley Furniture Planning 1 Million SF, $100M Avondale Warehouse Project

Ashley Furniture Industries Inc. is moving closer to building a new 1 million-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Avondale.

Its plans call for two buildings, both over 500,000 square feet which will include a showroom, office, a call center and warehouse space for distribution uses. Ashley says it will manufacture furniture at the new facility as well. It still needs final zoning approval from the town.

It’s one of the towns largest industrial developments to date. It will be constructed in a number of phases, just off I-10, across from the Avondale auto mall. The development could also include unaffiliated independent commercial buildings on the 75-acre property. The project represents an investment of over $100 million. Ashley bought the parcel for $32.8 million in 2021. Hodgdon Management and Construction Inc. is building the project that is expected to break ground next year.
