Ascension Health Opens Wallet for Capital Projects
Register for Connect Healthcare on November 8th at the Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa
Ascension Health in Michigan announced it would spend $63.1 million in capital projects, beginning in 2017, for two of its Southeast Michigan hospitals. The two hospitals to be spiffed up will be St. John Macomb-Oakland in Warren, and Providence-Providence Park in Southfield. The capital projects are the first of planned capital upgrades throughout the Ascension healthcare system.
A $48.1-million expansion project will begin in November 2017 on St. John Macomb-Oakland, at 11800 E. Twelve Mile Rd. The expansion, the largest in the hospital’s history, will extend the hospital’s east tower from four to seven floors, renovate 42 private patient rooms and convert 75 more rooms into private rooms. Meanwhile, Providence-Providence Park Hospital, at 16001 W. Nine Mile Rd. is planning a $15-million, three-year renovation project to upgrade several service areas.
