Ascend Hospitality Acquires Five Restaurants Slated to Close by Restaurants Unlimited
Bellevue-based Ascend Hospitality Group acquired five properties previously scheduled to close by Restaurants Unlimited, Inc. The deal includes one Stanford’s in Washington at Northgate mall, three Stanford’s in the Portland, OR area, including Clackamas, Jantzen Beach and Tanasbourne, and the Portland Seafood Company at Mall 205. Landry’s will continue to own Stanford’s Lake Oswego.
Ascend Hospitality Group’s Elaina Herber says, “when we realized how close these beloved brands came to closure on Friday, we saw an opportunity to save 250 jobs in the Pacific Northwest and continue their legacy. We are excited to expand into Oregon, and are looking forward to the scale this acquisition will provide to our current operation.”
Stanford’s was founded in 1990 by Pacific Coast Restaurants, which merged with Seattle based Restaurants Unlimited in 2007. Portland Seafood Company was founded in 2011 by Restaurants Unlimited.
