Asana Picks Up the Arboretum, Renovations to Come

Asana Partners acquired The Arboretum, an approximately 200,000-square-foot shopping center at 10000 Research Blvd. in Austin. Asana bought the retail center from Washington Prime Group Inc., which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2021 and has been unloading its properties. The Austin Business Journal reports Asana will make physical improvements to the property and craft a merchandise mix. The goal is to create an 18-hour retail destination.

The Arboretum will also make improvements for its common areas to support live music events, pop-up retail and community programming. It will also add patios for outdoor dining, improve connectivity and add new storefront signage. Work on The Arboretum is slated to begin this summer with an early 2027 completion.

The site sits in the Great Hills neighborhood and is home to The Cheesecake Factory, Amy’s Ice Creams, Cava, Juliet Italian Kitchen, Pottery Barn, Soma and more.

Asana Partners has more than $7 billion of neighborhood retail assets under management.
