Art Exhibition at BK Affordable Housing Development

ArtBridge, Slate Property Group, and RiseBoro Community Partnership have unveiled “Brownsville Reflections: Past, Present, Future,” a public art exhibition featuring the work of three local artists: Jocelyn Goode, Laurent Chevalier, and Sophia Victor.

The artworks are displayed on the construction sheds at 326 Rockaway Avenue in Brownsville, Brooklyn. This site is part of an innovative mixed-use affordable housing development designed as an all-electric passive house with no fossil fuel reliance for heating.

The building will offer 215 permanently affordable apartments, with a focus on serving formerly homeless young adults and their families. The exhibition is part of the City Canvas initiative, which repurposes temporary protective structures into platforms for art. The artwork will be on display for the duration of construction, and the project is expected to be completed by summer 2025.
