Arlington’s Rolling Hills CC to Become Housing/Commercial, Not Apartments
Dallas-based Provident Realty Advisors won approval from the Arlington City Council to transform the now-closed 96.5 acre Rolling Hills Country Club to 220 single-family homes and commercial space. Roughly 60 acres will go for homes and 30 acres will be mixed-use and could include commercial space, seniors’ living, and a hotel or retail, including groceries – but no apartments.
Rylan Yowell from Provident said. “Arlington took a stand – they didn’t want more multi-families, especially on this site.”
The country club has struggled to retain members and compete with much larger and more elaborate clubs in the newer parts of Tarrant County. It’s membership recently dropped from 500 to 83. The club, located at the corner of North Cooper Street and East Lamar Boulevard, has operated for 68 years and has hosted tournaments such as the Texas Women’s Open.
