Tohono U'odham Tribe opening second Phoenix area casino

Arizona Tribe Adding Another Phoenix-Area Casino

A fifth Desert Diamond Casino is ready to start construction at a 110-acre site located at the southeast corner of Loop 303 and Northern Parkway in Glendale. The casino is an enterprise of the Tohono O’odham Tribe. The tribe has not yet announced what the total investment will be for this location, or the amount of slot machines or gaming tables, just that they are breaking ground on the new casino.

The Desert Diamond Casino West Valley, also in Glendale, was completed in 2020, at a cost of $400 million. It has a thousand slot machines, 36 poker tables and 48 blackjack tables. It is located in the Westgate Entertainment District, near the Cardinals football stadium and numerous other sports, hospitality and entertainment attractions.

The Tohono O’odham Nation owns three other casinos: Desert Diamond Casino in Sahuarita, AZ, Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson and the Desert Diamond Casino in Why, AZ.
