Arizona Grand Resort Planning Major Expansion
The classic Arizona Grand Resort & Spa already has 744 guest suites. But the owner wants more. Grossman Company Properties, the owner of the Arizona Grand, submitted plans to expand the hotel to the city of Phoenix. Grossman wants 460 new rooms but also new conference space, new restaurants, a food hall, and possibly apartments. The resort, off I-10 and Baseline Road, was built in 1987.
The additions will be built on vacant space and current parking lots on the northeast and southwest sides of the 60-acre property.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports the owner plans to add 35,000 square feet of new food and beverage space. Conference space currently amounts to 78,000 square feet at the Arizona Grand. With the new additions, there will be up to 49,500 square feet of new conference space, plus 25,300 square feet of event lawns and 7,300 square feet of outdoor terraces.
Grossman has already signed on Swaback PLLC as the project’s architect.
