Aptitude Breaks Ground on 409-Bed Student Housing Property in Birmingham

New Jersey-based student housing development firm Aptitude Development has broken ground on The Marshall Birmingham, a 409-bed, 200,000-square-foot student housing community in Birmingham.

Located at 1201 3rd Ave. S., the property is within walking distance of the University of Alabama Birmingham campus. The community will be a seven-story building and will include 10,000 square feet of amenity space consisting of modern fitness facilities, resident lounges, breakout areas, open-air social space, courtyards and a pool with campus views.

The community is expected to supplement the demand for student housing at the University of Alabama Birmingham, which has seen a 30% surge in enrollment over the past decade. The Marshall Birmingham will begin pre-leasing in the summer of 2021 and will open for students in Summer 2022.
