Apple Plans on Expanding its Cupertino Footprint

Apple Plans on Expanding its Cupertino Footprint

Tech giant Apple has filed plans to develop a four-story, 282,000-square-foot office building on an 8-acre site in Cupertino, CA. The project, located at the intersection of Vallco Parkway and North Tantau Avenue, will replace an existing Apple building and include 2,300 square feet of ground floor retail space.

Apple, which already has it headquarters in the Silicon Valley city of Cupertino, continues to expand its footprint despite many tech companies recently cutting back on real estate holdings.

The current building, which is part of the company’s Vallco Parkway Campus, can hold up to 700 workers, but the new development will be able to accommodate twice as many employees. Apple plans to shift workers away from the current building during construction, and then will reoccupy once the new building is completed.

Cupertino officials have not yet approved the project, so there has been no set date as to when the development will commence.
