Apple Now Takes Up More Real Estate Than Google
We’ve been used to seeing Google make some of the biggest real estate deals, but that has changed over the last six months. Now it seems that Apple has take over as the Bay Area corporation with the most transaction volume.
Google has leased or acquired millions of square feet over the last few years, and now it’s starting to slow down, possibly because it needs to absorb everything it has already digested. It has only acquired two assets in Mountain View so far this year, a slowdown from its recent activity.
Meanwhile, Google is building a 600,000-square-foot building next to its Googleplex campus and could possibly build more.
