Apple Makes Big Santa Clara Move

Apple has reportedly signed two large leases in Santa Clara totaling 318,000 square feet. The spaces could accommodate about 1,600 workers.

San Jose-based Insight Realty owns one of the buildings, at 5301 Patrick Henry Drive. The other one, at 5440 Patrick Henry Drive, is apparently owned by Foster Enterprises. Cornish & Carey Newark was marketing the properties for lease for both owners.

Apple started taking up space in Santa Clara in 2012, when it leased up 260,000 square feet. In September it leased 60,000 square feet in the town.

The leases are in addition to the “spaceship” headquarters the tech giant currently has under construction.
