Apple Hospitality REIT Buys the AC Hotel for $117M

Apple Hospitality REIT, Inc. has announced the acquisition of the AC Hotel by Marriott Washington DC Convention Center for approximately $116.8 million. The hotel, located at 601 K Street NW, Washington, D.C., offers 234 rooms and opened in October 2020.

“With a wide variety of demand generators, including government, corporate, conventions, sporting events and concerts as well as both domestic and inbound international leisure, we are confident Washington, D.C. is well positioned for continued growth,” said Nelson Knight, president of Real Estate and Investments of Apple Hospitality.

Located near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, the hotel features guest rooms, a fitness center, rooftop bar and restaurant, and ground floor retail space. The acquisition expands Apple Hospitality’s portfolio to 224 hotels with 29,886 guest rooms across 37 states and the District of Columbia.
