Apple Finalizes Sunnyvale Acquisition for Reported $365M
Apple has finalized its purchase of a Sunnyvale office campus for an estimated $365 million, the Silicon Valley Business Journal reported. The tech giant acquired 505-599 N. Mathilda Ave. from Los Angeles-based Kilroy Realty, which had owned the 26-year-old property for nearly 13 years before exiting.
The campus’ new owner has occupied the property for at least the past five years. Headquartered in Cupertino, Apple has corporate offices and campuses totaling millions of square feet spread throughout the Bay Area. It has been buying up some of its leased properties, reported the Business Journal.
In June, the company bought one of its leased office complexes in Cupertino for $167 million. It also acquired a Sunnyvale office at 615 and 625 Mathilda Ave. for $350 million that same month and commented that it was going “to continue investing in world-class facilities for our teams,” the Business Journal reported in June.
