Apple Chooses Iconic Battersea Power Station for UK HQ

In a deal that is reportedly the largest office lease that London’s West End has seen in two decades, Apple is moving its London headquarters to the Battersea Power Station. Come 2021, the company will relocate 1,400 staff members and occupy six floors, spanning roughly 500,000 square feet.

The mixed-use development, owned by Malaysian shareholders SP Setia, The Employees Provident Fund, and Sime Darby, will encompass 4,300 homes, office space, retail and hotels. Knight Frank and CBRE represented the owners, and Cushman & Wakefield brokered the transaction for Apple.

Back in the 1930s, Sir Giles Gilbert-Scott designed the power station, which has been featured in many cultural works of art, from Pink Floyd’s album cover, to making an appearance in Alfred Hitchcock’s movie ‘Sabotage’.
