Apple Approaching Netflix Territory

Apple continues to grow in the original programming streaming sector, which Netflix currently dominates. The tech giant announced that it purchased “Carpool Karaoke,” a segment of CBS’s “The Late Late Show with James Corden”, where celebrities drive along with the host and sing together.

Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software and Services, Eddy Cue, said “It’s a perfect fit for Apple Music- bringing subscribers exclusive access to their favorite artists and celebrities who come along for the ride.”

Apple’s quarterly revenue was down YoY, posting at $42.4 billion, with profits of $7.8 billion.
