Another Mega Mixed Use?
Los Angeles developer Regent Properties is spending more than $100 million to revamp the former Texas Instruments campus in Plano, TX, with plans to turn it into Legacy Central, an urban village containing retail, hotel and multifamily mixed-use. To that end, Regent Properties has brought Trammell Crow Residential on board to help with the multifamily component.
Regent and TCR filed plans with the city for the development, which would be built at the 84-acre campus near U.S. 75 and Legacy Drive. Regent is already gutting and rebuilding the four office buildings on the campus, with the first of them ready next year. The developer, however, wants more.
“Without the multifamily component, high-quality retail amenities will not be feasible and the intended vibrant mixed-use environment will not meet its full potential,” Regent Properties wrote in a letter to Plano’s city planners.
