Ann Caruana Joins WNC from Avanath

Irvine, CA-based WNC expanded its leadership team with the addition of Ann Caruana, who joins as SVP of acquisitions for the company’s preservation equity funds. The 15-year real estate private equity veteran most recently served at Avanath Capital Management.

“Central to the mission of WNC is the preservation and protection of the already insufficient supply of affordable housing in our nation, and I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Ann to our firm to lead the pursuit of acquisitions for our preservation equity funds,” said WNC’s Will Cooper Jr. “Ann is a seasoned professional, with a unique blend of affordable housing and traditional multifamily investment experience.”

Caruana served as SVP at Avanath where she closed $250 million in affordable multifamily transactions, and secured $157 million in new or assumable debt. Prior to that, she spent nine years with BRE Properties in various research and investment roles. She began her CRE career in 2003 with Marcus & Millichap.
