An Important Amenity: The Laundry Room
Though the laundry room isn’t necessarily an apartment amenity that receives much attention, it’s starting to be examined as an attraction with which to woo new tenants. No longer will simply a bank of washers and driers do the trick. Tenants expect their laundry rooms to be well-lit, well-maintained and clean, with plenty of energy efficient washers and dryers available. The last thing renters want to do is wait to get their laundry done.
Other laundry room amenities include vended- and card-operated machines for convenience, and loyalty programs that earn free cycles. Additionally, Wi-Fi access and flat-screen televisions are moving from the “nice-to-have” to “must-have” laundry-room accessories.
