An Iconic Piece of Milwaukee’s Industrial and Brewing History is Sold

A major piece of Milwaukee’s industrial and brewing industry past has been sold.

Malteurop North America, which used to be called International Malting Co., recently sold the Milwaukee property, whose profile was defined by tall grain elevators, to a group of investors headed up by a Waukesha, WI businessman.

The purchase price was just shy of $1 million. The malting facility formed an essential part of the brewing industry well into the 1960s. It sold malt to such iconic Milwaukee brewing names like Miller, Pabst and Schlitz.
