AmTrust RE Brings in Patrick Kearney to Revamp Big Chicago Building Portfolio
AmTrust RE, a real estate owner-developer with commercial, mixed-use, and residential properties across several major U.S. markets, has hired Patrick Kearney as Managing Director based in Chicago, effective immediately.
Kearney will lead development, acquisition, and operations for AmTrust’s Chicago properties, including the $100+ million redevelopment of several iconic buildings such as Illinois Center, One East Wacker, 30 North LaSalle, and 33 West Monroe. Kearney’s decades of experience overseeing the repositioning and amenitization of properties will significantly contribute to AmTrust’s mission of maximizing the tenant experience.
“As AmTrust begins a monumental transformation of our Chicago portfolio, it is crucial that we have top-tier talent leading these initiatives. Patrick is a seasoned professional with a track record of redeveloping some of the City’s most impressive commercial properties, including CME Center, The Franklin, and a variety of other prominent assets. Patrick is uniquely qualified to turn our vision for an upgraded commercial portfolio into a reality,” said Jonathan Bennett, President of AmTrust.
Kearney comes to AmTrust with more than a decade of experience as a Regional Managing Director at Tishman Speyer, where he oversaw the company’s entire Midwest business. During his 14-year tenure at Tishman Speyer, he stabilized 10+ million square feet of assets, and helmed several significant redevelopment projects within the company’s Chicago portfolio and beyond.
“It’s a very exciting time to be joining the AmTrust team, particularly with its commitment to undertake multiple large-scale redevelopment efforts across its Chicago portfolio. The Chicago office leasing market continues to see renewed interest in the wake of the pandemic, particularly for well-located buildings with fresh and thoughtful renovation and amenity plans,” said Kearney.
