Amoeba Stays Hollywood… Signs on Blvd

Iconic music retailer and “occasional” live appearance pop-up Amoeba Records has confirmed it will relocate from its longtime home on Sunset Boulevard to begin a new chapter this fall on Hollywood Boulevard at Argyle Avenue as an anchor for DLJ’s El Centro mixed use project.

The newly-developed mixed use at 6200 Hollywood Blvd. offers 75,000 square feet of storefront retail space overall paired to 535 apartments. NKF’s Jay Luchs is the listing agent for El Centro’s retail space. Exact size of the Amoeba space was not available.

Amoeba had been searching for a new operating location as plans move forward for the delivery of a 26-story tower approved and underway at its former location.

The move does comes with celebrity neighbors like Capitol Records and the Pantages Theater, and sets the fan favorite retailer as an anchor for the modern, mixed use residential development defining today’s Hollywood Entertainment District.

Connect Retail West is coming to Newport Coast, CA on Feb. 13. For more information, or to register, click here.
