AMLI move 4 heritage oaks for new Addison multifamily community

AMLI’s Big Moves Make Way for Addison Apartments

AMLI is moving four huge oak trees, to make way for the AMLI Tree House, a 370-unit rental community in Addison. The project could not move forward without either sawing four heritage oak trees down or saving them and moving them to a more advantageous location. They decided to move the trees using a system where the trees are taken out of the ground and rolled on bladders until they reach their final destination. The project will also include 7,000 square feet of retail.

AMLI will also be planting more than 350 new trees—including live oaks, chinquapin oaks, cedar elms, and ornamental trees such as Japanese maples—with over half slated for a trail park. The remaining trees will be planted around the multifamily and retail development.

Construction for AMLI Tree House is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2024, with initial move-ins during Q3 2025. Final completion of the project is slated for Q3 of 2026.
