America’s Richest Towns
America is a country known for its grandeur, opportunity, and vastness. However, it’s also plagued by inequality in various ways, especially between cities within the same state.
However, the states’ wealthiest towns tend to have a lot in common with one another, no matter how geographically far apart they are. For the most part, wealthy towns all share these commonalities: expensive real estate, a well-educated population, and more often than not, they are within commuting distance to a big city.
After reviewing the median annual household income in every town with 1,000-25,000 people, 24/7 Wall Street released the following findings (here’s an abridged look at some of the wealthiest towns, click the jump to see more):
- Mountain Brook, Alabama
- Los Altos Hills, California
- Key Biscayne, Florida
- Winchester, Massachusetts
- Bellaire, Texas
