American Dream Mega-Mall in NJ Sets Oct. 25 Opening

Some 16 years after it was first announced as Meadowlands Xanadu by its original developer, Triple Five Group’s three-million-square-foot American Dream mall in East Rutherford, NJ is slated to open its doors on Oct. 25. The developer previously announced that tenants will continue opening there through 2020.

“American Dream brings its guests an unrivaled destination for style and fun,” said Ken Downing at Triple Five. “Its unique mix of entertainment (55%) and experiential retail (45%) will welcome and entertain guests, embracing everyone in a new retail and entertainment revolution, where everything is possible.”

Along with an indoor Nickelodeon Theme Park, DreamWorks Water Park and Big SNOW Ski and Snowboard Park, confirmed tenants include Legoland Discovery Center, CMX Luxury Cinemas and Collections at American Dream, the latter anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue and Barneys New York. There will also be more than 100 dining and specialty food offerings.
