American Airlines Breaks Ground on 1.8M-SF Fort Worth HQ
American Airlines is developing a new 1.8-million-square-foot corporate headquarters campus on a nearly 300-acre site in Forth Worth. Construction commenced on the more than $350-million, five-building Trinity complex west of Texas State Highway 360 that’s slated for completion by summer 2019.
The seven-story buildings are planned on a part of the master-planned campus that once housed American’s original Fort Worth headquarters in 1983. American’s ground lease has roughly 97 years remaining.
The new HQ will consolidate both management and front-line employees into a single location that includes its flight academy, training center, reservations center and integrated operations center. American plans to relocate 7,300 employees to the campus from four locations throughout North Texas. That number could eventually reach 11,000 employees.
The design and development team is led by Forth Worth-based Crescent Real Estate Holdings LLC, and is focusing on creating a HQ campus that fosters “connection and collaboration.”
