Amazon to Open 1M-SF Distribution Center in Newnan

E-Commerce giant Amazon has announced plans to open a new distribution center in Newnan. The one million-square-foot facility is expected to create 500 jobs.

Amazon will lease the facility, which is located at The Cubes at Bridgeport in Coweta County. Employees will pack and ship customer orders. CRG, a St. Louis-based real estate developer, is developing Bridgeport, a 500-acre industrial project in Newnan. Amazon is also building another fulfilment center near Stone Mountain, which is expected to employ around 1,000.

“Amazon is proud to serve customers across Georgia and throughout the southeast region of the U.S.,” said Alicia Boler Davis, vice president of global customer fulfillment at Amazon. “Georgia has been integral to Amazon’s ability to provide the great selection, competitive prices, and super-fast Prime shipping speeds we know our customers love. We are excited to add an additional 500 full-time jobs, industry-leading pay, and benefits starting for employees on day one.”
