One Medical oversees 188 medical offices in 25 U.S. markets

Amazon to Acquire One Medical for $3.9B

Amazon and One Medical have entered into a definitive merger agreement under which Amazon will acquire One Medical in an all-cash deal valued at approximately $3.9 billion, including the assumption of debt. The San Francisco-based primary care platform oversees 188 medical offices in 25 markets.

“We think healthcare is high on the list of experiences that need reinvention,” said Neil Lindsay, SVP of Amazon Health Services. “We see lots of opportunity to both improve the quality of the experience and give people back valuable time in their days,”

Amir Dan Rubin, One Medical CEO, added, “There is an immense opportunity to make the health care experience more accessible, affordable, and even enjoyable for patients, providers, and payers. We look forward to innovating and expanding access to quality healthcare services, together.”

Rubin will continue as One Medical CEO after the deal closes. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.
