Amazon Takes More Than 400K SF Outside of Seattle

Public documents reveal that an affiliate of Amazon.com, Inc. has signed a new 16-year lease with Chicago-based Equity Commonwealth for more than 400,000 square feet at Tower 333 in Bellevue, WA. The 20-story 440,565-square-foot Class A office tower is centrally located in Bellevue’s CBD, a suburb of Seattle across Lake Washington.

Built in 2008 by Hines, the LEED and Energy Star certified tower at 333 108th Ave. features a modern glass exterior curtain wall, offers a half-acre outdoor plaza and an eight-level below grade parking garage. The lease includes all of the building’s office space and commences in 2020.

The 100%-leased tower, known as the Expedia Building, serves as its HQ. The travel website and technology company occupies roughly 355,540 square feet there, though it is planning to relocate into 550,000 square feet at a building on Seattle’s Elliott Bay in 2019.
