Amazon acquired a 1948-built warehouse on 7.75 acres in San Bruno near SFO for $96 million. The 215,640-square-foot building was sold by an entity named Gcp San Bruno LLC.
The property is located at 1000 San Mateo Ave. and has housed an indoor airport parking facility. The site is located on the East side of the 101 freeway alongside of the 380 freeway.
The giant e-commerce retailer hasn’t yet indicated plans for the Peninsula site. A spokesperson noted the company constantly explores new locations to determine the best ways to serve customers. In recent months, Amazon has been expanding its footprint in the East Bay, including sites in Livermore, Richmond, Hayward and Dublin.
