Amazon Rings Hawthorne Bell for Home Security HQ
Ring, the $1-billion home security startup recently acquired by Amazon, plans to open a headquarters in Hawthorne, CA. The six-year-old tech firm that provides WiFi-enabled video doorbells, as well as other smart home security systems, is set to relocate from Santa Monica into two warehouse buildings being built by Vella Group.
The two-story, creative office space will include an atrium between the warehouses at 12515 and 12519 Cerise Ave. that features 30-foot trees, unique co-working space, and a state-of-the-art engineering and design wing. The space is being designed by M-Rad, in an industrial chic aesthetic with wooden and corrugated metal exteriors.
Ring plans to shift roughly 250 people to the 62,000-square-foot campus early next year. The property is across the street from a SpaceX facility, and would share a planned parking structure. The site is also near LAX, the Metro Green Line, as well as housing, restaurants and breweries.
