Amazon Readies for Fort Worth Regional Air Hub

While North Texas lost out on Amazon’s H2Q, construction has begun on a new Amazon Air regional hub at Fort Worth Alliance Airport. Hillwood, owner and developer of the 2,600-acre AllianceTexas mixed-use project, is developing the project for Amazon.

The air hub will be in Haslet, TX, which is in Tarrant and Denton counties in North Texas, and already contains an Amazon fulfillment center. The facility is scheduled for completion in 2019, and could create hundreds of jobs in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.

The air hub will have sortation capabilities and infrastructure capable of handing multiple daily flights of Amazon Air. It is being designed for Amazon Air’s larger-scale regional needs. “The new facility is the first of its kind for us, and we’re thrilled to ensure we have the capacity to continue to delight our customers,” stated Amazon Air Director Sarah Rhoads.
