Amazon Looks to Fill Record 33,000 U.S. Job Openings at Career Event

Amazon plans to host its 2020 Career Day on Wednesday, September 16. As a part of the nationwide virtual event, Amazon says it is seeking to fill 33,000 job openings for corporate and tech positions supporting areas that include Alexa, AWS, Operations Technology, and Prime Video.

Amazon’s Beth Galetti says, “We’ve created more jobs in the U.S. over the past decade than any other company – and we are continuing to hire people from all backgrounds and at all skill levels.”

With many people left unemployed by the economic impact of COVID-19 and searching for new jobs, Amazon says Career Day is designed to support all job seekers, regardless of their level of experience, professional field, or background – or whether they are looking for a job at Amazon or another company.

Amazon will also mobilize 1,000 of its recruiters to provide 20,000 career coaching sessions to attendees in a single day.
