Amazon Expands Portland-Area Footprint
Amazon plans to open two facilities encompassing roughly 370,000 square feet in the Portland area. One will be at the Majestic Tualatin Business Center in Tualatin (pictured), and another facility is slated to ride into the former Portland Meadows horse racing property.
The “last-mile” warehouses will handle delivery and sorting services for the giant Seattle-based e-commerce retailer.
The Tualatin property is a nearly 227,000-square-foot building developed by Los Angeles-based Majestic Realty Co. The site at 21504 S.W. 115th Ave. is located along the I-5 Corridor South submarket, near the I-5/I-205 junction. Kidder Mathews’ Steven Klein and Peter Stalick represented the landlord in the Tualatin transaction.
The Portland Meadows facility Amazon reportedly is taking spans some 150,000 square feet, and is located at 1001 N. Schmeer Rd. Last year, San Francisco-based Prologis acquired the property for $48.8 million with plans to develop a more than 1.8-million-square-foot industrial property, now called Prologis Meadows.
