Amazon Expands Atlanta Footprint with 1.1M-SF Logistics Deal

Amazon.com Inc. signed a more than 1.1-million-square-foot lease within Taylor & Mathis’ Chattahoochee Logistics Center in metro Atlanta. The e-commerce giant committed to the fulfillment center space at a new $62.5 million facility at 7055 Campbellton Rd.

The 100-acre logistics site, a former abandoned clay mine, is located southwest of downtown and has an additional 56.5 of expansion land. Chattahoochee Logistics Center is near Fulton Industrial Boulevard and Campbellton Road. The facility has 40-foot minimum clear heights, ESFR, 218 dock doors, four drive in doors, and 70-foot deep speed bays with 56-foot by 51-foot column spacing.

The expansion reflects Amazon’s continued fulfillment center growth across metro Atlanta. Other recent deals include a new distribution center outside Augusta; the lease of a pair of buildings for a delivery station in Lanier Logistics Center, a 112-acre development in Buford; development of a fulfillment center in Stone Mountain; and plans for a new Newnan fulfillment center.
