Amazon Claims 95K SF at Cousins’ 100 Mill Development in Downtown Tempe
Cousins Properties signed a roughly 95,000-square-foot lease with Amazon at 100 Mill, a 287,000-square-foot office development in downtown Tempe. The e-commerce giant will use the space at the 18-story tower for its Phoenix Tech Hub expansion.
The $153-million development is expected to deliver in Q1 2022. Cousins holds a 90% ownership interest and Hines has a 10% ownership interest in the joint venture developing the project.
Cousins Properties’ Colin Connolly says of Amazon’s deal, “Their decision to continue investing in new space validates the long-term value proposition of modern and well-located office properties for both companies and employees.”
Amazon also leases additional space at Hayden Ferry, Cousins’ existing office property adjacent to the 100 Mill site, and will expand into 100 Mill as it continues to grow in the city. Amazon’s deal brings 100 Mill to 44% pre-leased, including a long-term lease commitment from Deloitte.
CBRE’s Bryan Taute and Will Creyer handle leasing for the property.
