Amazon Claims 360K-SF in Manhattan
Amazon signed a 360,000-square-foot lease at Brookfield Property Partners’ 5 Manhattan West at the Hudson Yards mega-project under development on Manhattan’s west side. The e-commerce giant is taking two full floors and parts of two others, which brings the 1.8-million-square-foot office building to 99% leased.
The 16-story property is a part of Manhattan West, Brookfield’s eight-acre, six-building mixed-use development located at 450 West 33rd St. The online retailer, which secured $20-million in state tax credits as part of the deal, plans to move 2,000 employees into the building next year. Jobs include software engineers, data analysts, economists, as well as Amazon’s NY advertising division.
JLL’s Derek Trulson, Josh Stuart, Bill Peters and Clay Nielsen represented the tenant. Brookfield was represented in-house by Jeremiah Larkin, Duncan McCuaig and Alex Liscio, as well as Cushman & Wakefield’s Bruce Mosler, Josh Kuriloff, Rob Lowe, Ethan Silverstein and Matthias Li.
