Amazon is expanding its Texas footprint by adding a 127,000 square-foot delivery station, north of Austin. Construction on the new facility will begin soon at 3125 Capitol Way in Belton.

In these buildings, customer orders are prepared for last-mile delivery to customers. Amazon delivery providers enable fast, everyday shipping. Packages are brought over to the site from Amazon’s fulfillment and sortation centers, then they’re sorted and loaded onto delivery trucks to bring to customers typically within a 50-mile radius.

The Belton project will add to Amazon’s already big presence in the Austin area. Amazon reported 11,000 employees in the metro in 2024, which ranked sixth among employers.

Belton, the county seat of Bell County, has a population of around 24,000. Other large private-sector employers include H-E-B, Tru Homes and CGI.
