Amazon Breaks Ground on New Office in Boston’s Seaport

Seaport at WS Development broke ground on a new 17-story, 525,000-square-foot office development in Boston’s Seaport. Amazon plans to expand its Massachusetts footprint and open a corporate office at the building.

Amazon’s Michael Touloumtzis says, “With this new office, Amazon will be adding 430,000 square feet of state-of-the-art workspace within WS Development’s Seaport project – a 7.6 million-square-foot development transforming the Seaport District of Boston. We look forward to opening the doors of our new space in 2021.”

The new building at 111 Harbor Way, which also includes two stories devoted to retail and restaurant uses, is a central component of WS Development’s Boston Seaport project, the largest single real estate endeavor in city history. The overall project spans 23 acres across 20 city blocks.

The building’s design emphasizes human-focused elements, including outdoor terraces and a Paseo, a street-level interior public promenade lined with shops, cafes, and a central amphitheater that connects to Harbor Square Park.
