Amazon Again – The Retailer Buys More Seattle Assets
Amazon Inc. is throwing more money at downtown Seattle buildings. Most recently, the e-commerce giant paid $19.2 million to acquire two adjacent buildings on the west side of Seventh Avenue. The newly acquired property is across the street from Amazon’s recently opened Day One tower, as well as where Amazon plans to develop additional buildings.
The current offerings on the acreage at 2205 7th Ave. consist of a vacant motel and the office of Pronto, which is the city’s bicycle-sharing program. The sellers were listed as Clise Properties of Seattle and Clise family members. Clise Properties and Amazon are not strangers; Clise sold three blocks to Amazon for $207.5 million in 2012.
