Amazon Adds Nearly 500K SF to NYC Warehouse Space

Amazon is expanding its industrial footprint in New York City again, Crain’s New York Business reported. The retailer will open a 336,350-square-foot delivery station at 640 Columbia St. and a 151,000-square-foot station at 280 Richards St. in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood next year.

The company’s 211,000-square-foot delivery station at 2300 Linden Blvd. in East New York is now officially open for business. The Linden Boulevard station will create more than 80 full- and part-time jobs, the company said.

“These new delivery stations represent Amazon’s unwavering commitment to safety, technological innovations, and skilled teams that are obsessed with delivering for our customers,” an Amazon spokeswoman said in a statement.

The logistics facility on Columbia Street is a three-story project from Goldman Sachs and Dov Hertz’s DH Property Holdings. Goldman Sachs and Hertz partnered to purchase the site for $47.5 million in 2018.
