ALTA Adapts to Ensure Safer Real Estate Transactions During COVID-19

The American Land Title Association (ALTA), the national trade association of the land title insurance industry, is adapting to ensure safer real estate transactions during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Washington D.C.-based trade association has employed new measures that include offering new ways to refinance or close on a real estate transaction, such as drive-thru closings, digital closings, remote online notarizations and remote ink-signed notarization.

Additionally, ALTA offers a COVID-19 resource center on its website with information that includes fraud watch, state RON orders, recording jurisdictions, operating status and information about financial assistance for businesses.
