Allergan Readies for $200M Texas Expansion
Allergan, a pharmaceutical company headquartered in Ireland, announced it will spend $200 million to expand its plant in Waco, TX. The four-year expansion will more than double the company’s production capacity for eye care and dermatological products, as well as create 250 jobs in the near future.
The expansion at 8301 Mars Dr. will allow the facility to manufacture more than 40 different products for distribution to 110 countries. The process will add a new raw material dispensary, automated bulk formulation suite, warehousing space and 10 new production lines.
“We always evaluate multiple options, especially when we’re talking about a commitment of this size, but Waco was the clear winner,” said Allergan President and CEO Brent Saunders.
