Sustainably-focused technology infrastructure company Aligned Data Centers, has expanded into the Pacific Northwest, with a planned 27-acre, 108MW data center campus in Hillsboro, OR. The first facility is expected to offer 72 MW of critical capacity, followed by a second building offering 36 MW. No timeline for completion of the centers was provided.
“The rapidly expanding Hillsboro data center market offers a host of advantages to hyper scale and large enterprise customers,” said Aligned CEO Andrew Schaap. “Hillsboro offers a business-friendly environment, affordable power and renewable energy options and long-haul connectivity to Los Angeles, Seattle and Silicon Valley as well as proximity to subsea cable networks.”
The campus, which will combine Aligned’s patented cooling technology with a waterless heat rejection system, is located within Oregon’s Enterprise Zone which offers property tax abatement to date centers for up to five years. In addition Hillsboro has no state, city or county sales taxes.
