Alexandria REIT Partners with Columbia U. on Life Science Startup Lab

Alexandria Real Estate Equities partnered with Columbia University on Alexandria LaunchLabs @ Columbia, a life science startup facility, at the university’s Washington Heights campus. The second LaunchLabs site in New York City, the facility is slated to open in the spring of 2020.

The full-service platform will offer member companies 14,000 square feet of turnkey office/laboratory space along with strategic investment capital through the REIT’s Alexandria Seed Capital Platform. It will also feature a high-tech event center to host workshops, networking events and educational opportunities.

Through proprietary offerings such as Alexandria LaunchLabs – NYC and the Alexandria Seed Capital Platform, “we are working to bridge the gap in translating academic discoveries into novel therapies and technologies, and fostering the next generation of industry leaders to ensure the future growth and success of the NYC life science cluster,” said Alexandria’s Jenna Foger.
