Alexandria RE Sells Cambridge Life Science Asset 

An affiliate of Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., has sold 640 Memorial Drive, a 242,477-square-foot life science asset in Cambridge, MA., to Bain Capital Real Estate and Phase 3 Real Estate Partners. The property, situated along the Charles River, was originally constructed in 1913 as an automobile manufacturing factory. 

Newmark represented the seller and procured the buyer with a team of Steven Golubchik, Robert Griffin, Edward Maher, Matthew Pullen, James Tribble, Samantha Hallowell and William Sleeper.  

“640 Memorial Drive is a historic asset with an iconic location in Cambridge,” said Maher. “Originally built in 1913 as an automobile manufacturing factory, it now hosts first-class research, development and laboratory facilities for cutting-edge life science tenants.”
