Alexandria, Eli Lilly Agree on Lease for Institute for Genetic Medicine in Boston
Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., has signed a deal with Eli Lilly and Company for a 334,000-square-foot, long-term lease at 15 Necco Street in the Seaport Innovation District life science submarket of Boston.
The space will house Lilly’s new state-of-the-art Institute for Genetic Medicine. Lilly has also leased 36,000 square feet at 215 First Street, owned and operated by Alexandria, to support the scale-up of the institute ahead of anticipated occupancy at 15 Necco in 2024.
For more than a decade, Alexandria has provided Lilly with long-term real estate solutions that currently aggregate over 600,000 square feet on campuses across the San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area and New York City cluster locations.
Alexandria has a life-science asset base of approximately 18 million square feet in the Boston area.
